Due to heightened risks of losing specimens/shipments due to increased holiday shipping volume and the need to provide a break to staff to focus on internal priorities before the start of the new year, the FMNH Mammal Collection will not be sending or receiving loans through January 9, 2026 or hosting visitors December 15 - January 9.

Thanksgiving closure 2025

The Museum will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, November 27. We will re-open Friday, November 28 at 9am.

Staff Holiday Party--Early closure

On Wednesday, December 17, 2025, the Museum will close early at 3:00pm, last admission at 2:00pm, in preparation for a special event.

Christmas eve 2025--early closure

The Field Museum will close early on Wednesday, December 24 at 3pm (last entry at 2pm). The Museum will be closed on Thursday, December 25 and will reopen on Friday, December 26 with regular hours from 9am-5pm (last entry at 4pm).
