Mary Anne has worked with in a variety of Tanzanian habitats, and was a member of the team that conducted the first survey of the small mammals of Kilimanjaro. In 2005, Mary Anne discovered a new species of Congosorex in the Udzungwa Mountains, a significant biogeographic discovery, that changed the way we view the historical connections of that mountain system.,,Mary Anne continues her affiliation with the Museum's Mammal Collection.
