Type Locality

Nigeria, Western Region, Lagos.

Measurements

Head and body: 50-60 mm
Tail length: 26-33 mm
Forearm Length: 26.5-30 mm
Weight: 6-11.5 g

Description

The wings of this bat are very narrow and there are swellings on the snout.

Distribution

Ranging in the tropical belt from Sierra Leone and Liberia in the west to Kenya and Tanzania in the east, Mimetillus moloneyi is found under bark in forests, moist forest-savanna mosaics and woodlands at altitudes up to 2,300 m. (Kingdon, 1984, 1997)
