Description

Look for a bright yellow underside to help identify this common genus of bat.

Distribution

Distributed throughout all of Africa south of the Sahara, Scotophilus dinganii is found in various ecotypes including forests, woodland savannas and scrub-desserts. (Kingdon, 1984, 1997)
