Type Locality

Tanzania, Bagamoyo, (6°25'S, 38°54'E). 'Cette petite espèce provient de Bagamoyo, station de nos missionnaires, sur la côte de Zanguebar, . . .'

Distribution

Paraxerus ochraceus is found at various altitudes in dry forests, thickets, and wooded riverine strips in arid country, this species is distributed from southern Sudan to Kenya and Tanzania. (Kingdon, 1984, 1997)
